Regional Assistant General Manager

We have a solid management team in place and are looking for someone to support the General Managers at both locations with floor management and administrative duties. This is a full-time job, but the exact schedule/structure is somewhat flexible. You would be responsible for three or four weekday evening shifts as MOD (covering the GMs' days off) plus one or two brunch shifts on the weekends. The current schedule is two PM shifts at Lake & Irving, two PM shifts at Pau Hana (all roughly 2pm-9pm), plus a split shift on Saturdays (brunch at Pau Hana, dinner at Lake & Irving).

Compensation will depend on qualifications but the starting pay range will be $47k to $55k/year.

Job Duties:

-Run the floor for your scheduled MOD shifts: draw up floor plans, write-up preshift notes, communicate w/ the kitchen on specials and counts, balance tills, manage online ordering, and support the FOH staff as needed.

-Make day-to-day staffing decisions based on labor targets and sales projections.

-Help develop and train FOH staff in tandem with the General Managers.

-Support the GMs in various administrative duties, including invoicing, payroll, ordering, scheduling, event management, guest communication, and more.

-Assist in various maintenance and cleaning tasks as needed.

-Help set the example for professionalism, attitude and work ethic for the rest of the staff.


-Must possess solid organization and communication skills. Reliability and timeliness are must-haves for any management position.

-Modern computer literacy, including Microsoft Office (excel, word), web browser/app use, and regular use of email is required. Experience with restaurant-related software (Resy/Opentable, online ordering, Toast/Breadcrumb, etc) is preferred, but we will train the right candidate.

-Be able to take direction and complete assigned tasks in a reasonable time frame, but also be able to make independent decisions on behalf of and in the best interest of the business.

-Be able and willing to work for extended periods on your feet and perform various physical tasks with reasonable accommodation (like being able to move and hookup beer kegs with the help of another person).

-Be able to travel between the two locations independently.

We are hoping to fill this position by the end of July and will hire as soon we identify the right candidate.

Bartender (4 or 5 shifts/week)

Pau Hana has a quality FOH team in place and are looking to add to our bar staff. Ideal candidates will be those who have a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn. This is a great opportunity for those who love quality food and drinks and want to refine their service and bartending techniques within a unique and well-designed beverage program (our bar is focused largely on rum, tequila, and beach cocktails).

We are looking for a confident, skilled bartender with at least 2 years of experience. Preferred availability is Thursday- Monday nights, and Sunday night availability is required. There will likely be opportunity for shifts on other weeknights, as well, in addition to opportunities to pick up serving shifts.

PT Server

Pau Hana is looking to add a skilled server to our team for the addition of patio service in the coming weeks (current target is mid May). Ideal candidates will have a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.

Two years serving experience is preferred, and Sunday availability is required. There may also be some opportunity to bartend for those with experience and a willingness to cross-train.

FT Line Cooks

Pau Hana has a quality kitchen team in place and is looking for two full time (or possibly three part-time) line cooks to fill out our ranks. This is a great opportunity for someone with high-volume kitchen experience to grow their culinary knowledge and get exposure to several different cuisines. Pau Hana serves "Hawaiian Regional Cuisine," which is essentially a culinary melting pot of all the different immigrant cultures that make up the population of the Hawaiian Islands. This includes Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Portuguese, Filipino, Pacific Islander, and more. Experience with Asian fusion is a plus but not required. Experience on a high-volume line is preferred.

Ideal availability is Friday-Tuesday nights for a full time applicant. If part time, Sundays and Mondays are a priority.

Starting wage is $18-$20 (DOQ), plus a share of the BOH tip pool (share of the takeout tips, typically another $1 or $2 per hour).
